Born in Scranton, PA, Salsey grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. After graduating from her beloved Our Lady of the Valley she went on to receive her RN from Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck and finally began her career at Elizabeth General. As a break from long hours as a nurse, she would unwind at Dudley''s Bar. It was thereshe met the love of her life, Tommy. They lived most of their married years in North Caldwell. She was a writer for the Caldwell Progress Newspaper, as well as a volunteer for York Street Project in Jersey City andSt. John''s Soup Kitchen in Newark.

Retirement settled them in Avon-by-the-Sea 15 years ago where she could enjoy the sand, sun, fun, and music of the Jersey Shore. She finally had the time to devote to her dream career as an accomplished Kazoo player. But her greatest joys were the times spent with friends, family and her precious grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by her sister, Eleanor Gormley and brother-in-laws, James Gormley, Roger Roby and Fr. James B. Sullivan.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, Thomas J. Sullivan; devoted children, Kelly King and her husband John, and T.J. Sullivan and his wife Maura; cherished grandchildren, John Nelson, Emily, Kayla, Tommy, Katie, Erin, and Shannon; loving sisters, Jackie Roby and Jean Meehan and her husband Art; caring sisters-in-law Sister Joan Sullivan SSJ, Mary O''Callaghan and Pat Meloro and her husband Tommy.

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, friends and adopted families: the Guariglia, Clohosey, McHugh, McCarthy and Morris families.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the York Street Project or St. John''s Soup Kitchen.
